Swimming pool water removal in Doha, Qatar

Al Makki drains swimming pools for villas and compounds in Doha and across Qatar. Our Super Combi suction truck lifts the pool water into its own tank, then picks up the sand, leaves and sludge left on the floor, so the pool is empty and ready for cleaning, repair or retiling.

Arrival time: 3 to 4 hours within Doha

Signs you need this

  • Tiles are loose or cracked, or the grout needs redoing.

  • The water level keeps dropping, which can mean a leak that is easier to find with the pool empty.

  • Flood water or sewage has got into the pool.

  • The pool deck, pump room or a basement next to the pool is under water.

How we help

Who it's for

  • Villas and homes
  • Compounds

A pool needs emptying for different reasons. Loose or cracked tiles, a leak, new grout or a full retile can only be done dry. Sometimes the water itself is the problem: flood water or sewage has got in, and the pool has to be emptied and cleaned before anyone swims in it again.

The Super Combi takes the water away with it, so nothing is pumped out onto your garden or the street. If you are building a new pool and the excavation keeps filling with groundwater, that is dewatering, and we do that too.

What's included

  • Draining private villa pools and shared compound pools by suction, before cleaning, repair or retiling

  • Emptying pools where the water has been spoiled, for example by flood water or sewage

  • Lifting the sand, leaves and sludge that remain on the pool floor once the water is out

  • Removing standing water from flooded pool decks, pump rooms and basements, including after heavy rain

  • Jetting a blocked deck drain or pipe near the pool in the same visit

  • Cleaning up around the pool when we finish, so your pool company or cleaner can start straight away

How a visit works

  1. You call or WhatsApp us with your location, roughly how big the pool is, and why it needs emptying.

  2. For planned work, we agree a day that suits you and your pool contractor. If water is flooding the pool area, we treat it as urgent: we arrive in 3 to 4 hours within Doha; for the rest of Qatar, we give you a time when you call.

  3. The crew parks as close to the pool as it can, runs the suction hose to the pool and lowers it into the deep end.

  4. We suck out the water, then the last shallow layer together with the sand, leaves and sludge on the floor.

  5. We roll up the hoses, clean up the deck and walk round the empty pool with you before we leave.

What to prepare

  • Switch off the pool pump, the heater and any other pool equipment before we arrive, and keep them off until the pool is refilled. Equipment that runs without water can be damaged.

  • Close the inlets: the automatic top-up and any fountain or water feature that feeds the pool, so fresh water doesn't keep flowing in while we drain it.

  • Tell us about access: where the truck can park, how far that is from the pool, and any gate, steps or narrow path the hose has to pass.

  • On a compound, let the gate and security know we are coming, and ask residents to keep clear of the pool area while we work.

  • If a contractor is repairing or retiling the pool, agree the date with them, so the pool isn't left empty for longer than the work needs.

Equipment we use

Super Combi

A combination truck that jets and vacuums in one visit: high-pressure water clears the blocked line, then powerful suction lifts the water and sludge into the truck's tank.

What does it cost?

What affects the price

  • How much water there is to remove, which depends on the size and depth of the pool
  • How far the pool is from where the truck can park
  • How much sand, leaves and sludge there is on the pool floor
  • Whether a blocked drain or pipe also needs jetting
  • Where in Qatar the pool is

The price depends on the job. Call or WhatsApp us with what you need and where, and we'll give you a quote.

Common questions

How long does it take to drain a pool?

It depends on the size and depth of the pool and how far from it the truck can park. Tell us roughly how big your pool is when you call, and we'll plan the visit around it.

Do you take the water away?

Yes. The water goes into the Super Combi's own tank and leaves with us, together with the dirt we lift from the pool floor.

Can you come when the pool area floods?

Yes. We work 24/7, including Fridays and nights. Switch off the pool equipment if it is safe to do so, keep people away from any wiring near the water, and call us. We arrive in 3 to 4 hours within Doha.

Do you drain pools outside Doha?

Yes. We cover all of Qatar, including Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Umm Salal, Al Shamal and Al Shahaniya. Call us with your location and we'll tell you when we can be there.
